WORK IN PROGRESS
Updated content will appear here shortly!
AURUM should cover a number of things:
- A software interface for resource budget management, enclosing HELIUM's optional CPU/memory quotas, TUNGSTEN storage quotas, programmatic access to real-currency financial budgets, abstract currencies like "printer credits", and cryptocurrencies. A common abstraction for an "account" with a unit and a balance, ways to allocate budgets from accounts to different dynamic contexts, ways to provide budgets as payment for MERCURY endpoint invocations (and a notation to set minimum payments on them in the ACLs), ways to transfer between accounts, and tools to create currencies (be they "local banks" like printer credit allocations or distributed crypto tokens)
- An implementation of some protocol such as Avalanche or Open Representative Voting as an ARGON kernel module so nodes can partake in the protocol as a simple cluster configuration option, allowing easy access to distributed global ledgers in ARGON.
- An application of the distributed ledger technology to allow people to claim, and maintain their stake in, names without any central authority - Namecoin without wasteful proof-of-work mining. Further research on how to do this while disincentivising name squatting is required... See AURUM for more thoughts on the matter.
